Lucid Pseudo Dream

Jiajing Wang seeks to create a tangible illusion, using natural materials such as mineral pigments and wooden panels to build a bridge that transforms the “garden” into an accessible utopia—a deliberately maintained inner world.

As a paradigm of artificial nature, the construction of a garden is the result of a profound dialogue between human culture and the laws of nature. Serving as a symbol of a return to human nature, the garden has become an enclave within urban life, fulfilling humanity’s yearning for an irretrievable dream world. Within Wang Jiajing’s garden, symbiotic flowers and thorns, interwoven branches and fences, and layered dreams and rules unfold repeatedly, playing out in intricate cycles.

By interpreting the duality of the garden, Wang’s work reflects deeply on the relationships between humanity and nature, idealism and reality, reason and desire, while also exploring the subtle and complex dynamics between the artist, the artwork, and the audience.
